Meet the Team

The Educator

Sadie Thackaberry BSc (hons), PGCE, PGCTHE, ILM NVQ, MRES, MA, FHEA

With experience in the accounts sector, Sadie returned to University as a mature student to follow her passion for animals, here she also found her passion for education! Combining these she now has over 8 years of experience teaching and assessing at college and university level across topics such as animal behaviour, health & welfare and anthrozoology. Sadie also provides consultation for the design of university level courses and has participated in the validation of 6 new animal based degrees within the last couple of years. With two Masters degrees, two postgraduate teaching qualifications and a suite of management and coaching certificates you could say that education has become ingrained in daily life, so development of online short courses was perhaps always just a small step away. Sadie believes that that step needs to be made now. Sadie wants to create a space where mutual partnerships between humans and animals are fostered, these being built upon principles of animal wellbeing.

“We find ourselves in a time where we know so much, yet at times this gets lost in translation into practice”
